The gold price chart for 2010 shows that after consolidating in the first quarter of the year, gold was gaining for most of 2010 and moved to new long-term highs. The yearly low was formed on February 5 at $1,052.80. In May-August gold fluctuated along the level of 1,200, before resuming its uptrend. It reached a yearly high on December 31 at the level of $1,421.40 (the final close of the year). Overall, gold gained $325.20 (29.67%) in 2010.
