Gold price chart for 2006 shows that after a quick decline to yearly low of $527.80 formed on January 5, gold was gaining in first half of the year. The yearly high was formed on May 11 at $721.50, following a quick move up. In May-July gold retraced most of this rally. Then it remained within consolidation along the level of $600-$650. Overall, gold gained $119.10 (22.95%) in 2006. The final close of the year was $638.00.
